ELIGIBILITY FOR COMPENSATION

You may be eligible for (partial) reimbursement for your hairpiece or for a contribution towards the costs in several ways. We've listed the different types of reimbursement.

BASIC AND SUPPLEMENTARY INSURANCE

Do you have a medical indication? Then the reimbursement from the basic insurance is in 2025€482.50This reimbursement comes from your basic insurance and is therefore offset against your deductible. With supplementary insurance, you may be entitled to a higher reimbursement. You can find this information in your insurance policy terms and conditions. You can change your policy once a year.

You can claim a hairpiece once a year. The year starts from the date of purchase. After a year, you can receive reimbursement for another hairpiece.

TAX RETURN FOR EXTRAORDINARY EXPENSES

You may be eligible for a tax deduction for medical expenses or other extraordinary expenses. The tax deduction depends entirely on your personal circumstances. For more information, Back Stage recommends contacting the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration or your tax advisor.

COMPENSATION FOR HAIR WORK FOR MEN

Hairpieces for male pattern baldness (Alopecia Androgenetica) are rarely covered by health insurers. This is because the diagnosis is often incomplete. Discuss your situation with your doctor to ensure you receive the correct medical diagnosis.
