DIFFERENT FORMS OF
ALOPECIA
Are you experiencing hair loss, bald patches on your head, or complete hair loss? This falls under one umbrella term: alopecia. Anyone can get alopecia: men, women, and even children. Not many people realize how common this condition is. Below are the most common forms of alopecia.
DIFFUSE ALOPECIAis a form of temporary hair loss. Does your hair suddenly become thin and can you see your scalp through it? In most cases, this is called diffuse alopecia.
Frontal Fibrosis AlopeciaAlso called FFA, this is a rare condition that primarily affects women during or after menopause. The cause is unknown. Hair follicles become inflamed, and hair falls out from left to right across the head. Eyebrows may also fall out with this condition.
ALOPECIA AREATAmeans "patchy baldness." This condition involves round or oval patches of hair where hair no longer grows. These patches are not red, flaky, and itchy.
ALOPECIA UNIVERSALISmeans complete hair loss. With this form of alopecia, you don't just lose the hair on your head. All the hair roots on your body are affected.
